When we are talking about the entire pet ensemble, we are not just considering dog collars alone. We are more concerned about dog clothes which are fashionable yet functional. As most of us dismiss as just pure fancy of dog owners, these garments are meticulously designed for a specific function or purpose.

The dog clothes are made out of high craftsmanship and are mostly designed to toy and small dogs such as terrier, dachshund, Chihuahua, Pomeranian, etc. Dog Clothing is a fashion statement of your favorite dog as you go about your daily routine.

Why do you have to consider buying dog clothing? When it comes to sudden dips in temperature and changes in the weather, you should be very careful with your short-furred dogs. This kind of puppy doesn’t have the ability to keep their temperature constant. The dog fur can get damp as it can absorb the moisture that comes from the ground up during cold weather.

After this, the insulating capability of the furred body is impaired leading to a drastic drop in the body temperaturein the puppy. This explains why some dogs easily catch a chill especially in cold weather. This is the prime reason why it is essential that we use dog clothing to guard the dogs from the ruthless effect of the nippy winter.

Most of us consider our pets as members of our families. They also enjoy cozy beds in the home with controlled climate. Their bodies do not have environmental cues to respond to seasonal shifts. Dog clothing goes beyond fashion. Working dogs|Police dogs and search and rescue dogs} must wear coats and appropriate dog booties to protect them from the winter weather.

In general, short haired dogs need protection from temperatures drops as they are more vulnerable than a breed with long and thick coats. Dog clothing that functions as sweatshirts are fleece-lined coats and booties are the essential winter outfits for protection from frost bites, ice and the bitter cold temperatures. There are also dog wraps that cover the neck and the rump and legs which also serve as protection of the internal organs of your dog.

You should use hooded jackets for your dog in your early morning walks especially during those windy days. Take care not to let an active dog get over heated. It is important for the owners to observe for any signs of panting or any behavior that would indicate that the dog is overheated.

Be very careful that you do not allow the dog on the walk to ingest any antifreeze since this is highly toxic. A trace amount of the anti-freeze can already be harmful to your dog.

You may want to consider a pair of cute pajamas for your dog in the evening. You should provide your little friend with warm bed with a blanket to keep him comfortable even especially during chilly evenings. You may give your dog an extra late snack with a high caloric diet that dogs need to generate extra body heat especially during winter.
